Activities +I Like

There are different activities that I like. They are<--include sportNUM (number), dancing, reading. All these activities develop personality. They bring +a new and active life. Sport gives me health and +a nice body. Dancing brings me pleasure and also it influences on the appearance of my body. Reading give me knowledge and it develops my speech. But one of my favorite<--spelling activities is traveling<--spelling.

As to me, all people like traveling. Even if some people tell<--say that they don't, I wont believe them. Different people have different reasons why they don't travel often or at all. If they don't travel, it means that maybe they don't have money, or time, or organizational skills. But if people traveled somewhere at least one time, in the future they can't help themselves to stop.

Travelling is my life. I can't live without it. I need to go somewhere at least once a year. If I go to foreign country as a tourist, I will be full of energy and impressions during the rest of the year. I am getting excited not only during the trip but also during the planning of this trip. I can go to the trip with my husband, with my friends or even alone, with the tourist group of unknown people to me. I am not afraid of traveling by myself. I am happy in all cases.

I've been to different countries, such as Poland, France, Hungary, Czech Republic, Russia, Austria, Switzerland, Mexico, Cuba, Greece, Croatia, Montenegro and Bulgaria. I've been in Canada for 2.5 years and I had time to visit lots of places such as Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto, Niagara Falls, Vancouver, Victoria Island, Calgary and Edmonton. When I lived in Ukraine, I tried to organize my friends for the trip even for the weekend. We often traveled to Crimea, the Carpathian Mountains, Kiev and Lviv. We could go for a couple days to Crimea. We could spend only one night there and come back by train on Monday and go straight to work from the train station. We were crazy and tried to catch all the emotions and spend our time in the best way.

My dream is to go to China, Thailand, Australia and India. These are very exotic countries. The culture of these countries differ from those of other countries. Nature is also different. They all have a long history. But I will have to save money for these trips as traveling from Canada to these countries is an expensive pleasure.

Travelling gives people knowledge, a wider imagination of the world, and new friends. I would advise people if they have some money, it's much better to spend it on trips rather than on a boat, one more jacket, or to visit hundredth time of your favorite restaurant. They would get more emotions and maybe spend less money. But for sure they will get much more staying at home during wedding, New Year, winter vacation.<--meaning?

Take your time and enjoy the world.

Olympic games

I love sports but I am not crazy about watching different sports. But the Olympic Games are international games and it was very interesting to follow the results. It's a competition between lots of countries. It's an image of all countries. Every player tried to show the best of their country.

I didn't watch all the games. But I tried to find out about the results every day. It was very interesting for me to know what country won the competition (or event) and in what sport. Also it was even more interesting for me to watch the results because I like the Russian team. I am Ukrainian but my native language is Russian but I can speak Ukrainian easily. Many of my relatives live in Russia. The history of Ukraine and Russia is connected. It has common roots.

I was in Sochi when I was a little girl. It's a very beautiful place in Russia. This was an important reason why I watched the results. I loved the opening and closing ceremonies. Russia tried to showcase to the world its history, music, literature, circus, dances, and all things creative. It's a huge country with a rich history.

It was strong field of competition. Canada was the best in hockey. Russia was strong in figure skating, and other countries were strong in other kinds of sport. These games connected the whole world. The 17 days were amazing. The world was watching these games, and it was very exciting.

My new life in Canada

I never could imagine that I could live somewhere far away from home. I am from Ukraine and my native city is Odessa, it's a very big and beautiful touristic city with lots of sightseeing and big port. Odessa is washed by the Black sea. I love my native city and my country. But its political and economic situations are unstable. And one day I had to make a decision whether live in my country forever or move to another country.

Everybody is looking for a better life and better conditions. My husband got a job offer from Canada. He had a contract with the company for 2 years and never thought about staying here for a longer time. But when he had the chance to get permanent residency and we thought that it was our chance to get better life in a the country with a stable economy, where people obey the law and where people are protected by their government. My husband liked Canada very much as he had lived here for more than 2 years and he knew this country rather well so he inspired me and we made a decision to stay here.

I came to Canada 2.5 years ago. It was a long trip. Three planes, long waiting at the airports, unknown people around me. I am a communicative person and like travelling very much but 2.5 years ago I didn't think that it was a nice short term trip. I understood that I wouldn't be able to see my mother and my friends for a long time. So my first day in Canada wasn't so nice and interesting as it could be.

I couldn't even enjoy the new places and new country. I was upset because Canada was too too far from my native city and people who I know for the whole my life. Of course, my husband tried to support me. But I needed some time to get used to the thought that I had  moved and I had a new home.

I was lucky that in the place where my husband lived and worked, there were lots of Ukrainians. They became my new friends. I got a job at the same place where my husband worked. I have two Master's Degrees, in Economics and in Teaching. The place where we live is very a small town. But it has a huge company so lots of people are having (?) their jobs in this company. Inspite of being so huge company there weren't the jobs at the office. So I decided to start somewhere and then try to get better job. So I started at the warehouse. It was a difficult job for me because I had heart surgery and I had to avoid physical work. But the warehouse is a place where you have to lift heavy things,C.S. (?) you have to work in the production area where it's cold in the winter and hot in the summer. Lots of dust, production noise, etc... But I didn't give up and started to apply for different jobs at the office and finally after 1 year at the warehouse I got the jog in the Purchasing Department. I like it very much. But now I have another goal. I'd like to move to a big city and find a good well-paid job there because I love big cities.

Two and half years had passed and I can tell that Canada had become my second home. It will never become my first home because Ukraine is still my native country. But I love these both countries. I love the people in Canada,C.S. (?) they are very friendly and supportive. I am happy that my life gave me such possibility to get a new life in another beautiful country such as Canada!
